Abstract :

There are numerous verses in the Holy Quran that prohibit infanticide, stating that the unjust killing of a child by a parent is a great sin, carries a very heavy punishment, and in the eyes of God is equivalent to killing all people. In this article, the Quranic perspective and the psychological causes of infanticide are examined according to the opinions of psychologists and psychiatrists. The present article shows that social factors have a significant impact on creating behavioral abnormalities, and changing living conditions cause personality changes in all aspects and transforms him. Also, in the phenomenon of infanticide, criminal behavior is influenced by crime phenomena by others in accordance with the personality defect of the offender in various social situations, as a result of which human tendencies go beyond the limits and the person commits murder. Therefore, criminal psychologists believe that other factors such as social problems, economic poverty, mental illnesses, and family disputes are motivations that are effective when committing a crime.
