Abstract :
Abstract This research has studied the effectiveness of life skills training on quality of life in diabetes mellitus patients who refer to Fardis Health Care Center. This has been a sub - experimental research and used pre – test, post - test plan with a control group. 30 subjects aged 40-65 were selected randomly and were assigned randomly in 2 group as experimental group who received life skills training and control group who didn't received any training. Data were collected by demographic and Short Form of quality of life questionnaire (pre - test). Life skills were taught to experimental group during 8 sessions, each 1.5 hours and 1 session in a week. Data were collected again by SF - 36 questionnaire ( post - test) and were analyzed by SPSS, ANOVA،ANCOVA, Results showed that Analysis of co-variance and multivariate analysis of variance showed that life skills training had significant and positive effect on quality of life and it's sub – scales ( Happiness, social function, Emotional Health and General Health) in experimental group in comparison with the control group (p = 0.000). In all, According to this study, life skills training increased quality of life in diabetes mellitus patients.
