The statistical population of the research was made up of all the patients with cancer in the number of 3700 people who referred to specialized centers and clinics and the association of cancer patients in Amol city in 1402 and their disease was undiagnosed. Among them, 30 people were selected in the accessible way and by using simple randomization method, the sample people were placed in two experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. Both groups responded to the Distress Questionnaires of Simmons and Gaher (2005) and Perceived Stress of Cohen et al (1983). Then, after making the necessary arrangements, the experimental group received 10 60-minute sessions of positive cognitive behavioral therapy based on the research of Karbasian et al. (1401), but the control group did not receive any educational program during this study. After completing the training, the questionnaires were completed again by the subjects of both groups and were analyzed. In the descriptive part, the minimum and maximum scores, mean and standard deviation were used, and in inferential statistics, to compare and examine the difference in the average of the groups in the pre-test and post-test, multivariate covariance analysis (MANCVA) and univariate analysis
