By examining the historical course of Islam from the time of its emergence to the period of the Abbasid caliphate, it can be seen the importance of science and knowledge and the emphasis on its comprehensiveness, although in the early days of its emergence, due to successive wars and the difficult situation of Muslims, library culture did not flourish and become popular. But with the approach of the Abbasid caliphate period, this task has almost been realized, hence the present article tries to study the most important factors affecting the quantitative and qualitative development of the library in this period by using the documentary and historical research method. The article raises the question of how and in what way the translation movement was an important factor in the development of library culture during the Abbasid caliphate. The findings of the article show that the recommendation of the Qur'an and the Sunnah to learn science, the role of Dar al-Alam and Bayt al-Hikmah, the role of Islamic governments in paying attention to science and knowledge, the role of mosques and schools, the role of the ruling culture of the Abbasid era, the translation movement, the development of paper, and change and transformation. The educational system of the Abbasid era is considered the most important factors affecting the development of library culture.
