Abstract :
The Imams (as) had a special place among the people and those in power because they were the leaders of the Shiites. Having such a special position made the children of the Imams (AS) easily not accept the Imamate of a brother or nephew who has reached the position of Imamate and try to reach such a position themselves. One of these children is Jafar, the brother of Imam Hassan Askari (AS) and the uncle of Imam Zaman (AS). Because Imam al-Zaman (as) was young and in absentia, and except for a few members of his family and Shiites, no one had seen him, he sought to usurp the position of Imamate of Imam al-Zaman (as) and for some time with some Shiites. He accompanied himself, but in the end he could not reach his goal and for this reason he became known as Jafar Kadhab. The purpose of this article is to use a descriptive-analytical method to examine the factors that influenced Jafar Kadhab to claim Imamate, as well as the reasons for rejecting his Imamate.
