Abstract :
This study conducts a scientometric analysis to examine the role of human resource management (HRM) functions in fostering trust within supportive organizations. Utilizing VOSviewer, data were extracted from Scopus and Web of Science databases (2004–2024), with 860 articles selected for analysis after systematic screening. Through network analysis and conceptual mapping, key trends, clusters, and research hotspots were identified. Findings reveal a notable surge in publications after 2015, particularly from 2021 onward, reflecting the maturation of this field and a paradigm shift toward trust-centered HRM. Citation peaks during 2016–2018 highlight seminal contributions, such as Vanhala et al. (2011; 86 citations), which established the field’s theoretical foundation. Post-2015 studies emphasize interdisciplinary depth, linking trust to leadership, collaboration, and sustainability. Geographically, the United Kingdom (113 articles) and the United States (109 articles) lead research output, with the University of Cambridge (34 articles) as the most prolific institution. The Journal of Business Ethics (164 articles) emerges as the most cited publication, underscoring the interplay between trust and humanistic values. Keyword co-occurrence analysis positions organizational trust as a central node, connected to justice, job satisfaction, commitment, and perceived support, while emerging hotspots signal intelligent HRM approaches as future frontiers. This study opens new avenues for trust-building research and offers actionable insights for HRM policymakers and practitioners in supportive organizations.
