Abstract :
Purpose: The aim of the present study was to initially design a premarital education package based on key components by combining qualitative content analysis and the Delphi method.
Methodology: The present study was qualitative and aimed to develop a package in the field of premarital education by reviewing scientific literature and interviews. Therefore, a collection of reputable scientific literature published domestically and internationally in the field of premarital education, as well as interviews with 15 family specialists and 20 married students, was reviewed. The package was developed and its validation was examined with focus groups using the fuzzy Delphi method.
Findings: Data analysis led to the extraction of six main themes (marital communication and interaction, conflict and challenge management, individual and joint growth and development, psycho-physical health and well-being, resource planning and management, spirituality and shared values) and the design of an initial closed framework.
Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that preparation for marriage requires attention to multiple individual and relational dimensions. The selection of married students as participants provided the opportunity to gain objective experiences and real challenges of married life.
