Fossil fuels eventually will end someday. Therefore most of the developed countries aimed to consider the nature of the materials used to produce energy with less pollution in the environment. This material is considered one of the biomass and is an example of the cattle manure. This study was conducted in Miandoab township, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. The Area has an estimated population of about 5078 cow and at least 50780 Kgs of Livestock manure is produced each day in this area. So the area has a high potential for energy recovery from most of the mechanized units. In this study the area was surveyed for climatological data and then quantitative and qualitative information were collected for total amount of waste, T.S, S.S, Volatile solid (V.S.) , amount of water used for sample farms (4 farms in total, representing the mechanized Livestock units in the area). The aim of this study was to determine the energy system, its components, and estimate the cost of energy production. In this study the advantages of geographical position and climate and energy technology from cow manure, Biogass system, investigated and a energy recovery system for biogass and electricity production has been suggested which proposed to be economical.
