Isa Kazemi Alamouti1* Department of biosystems Enineering, Islamic Azad University, Takestan Branch, Takestan, Iran *Corresponding author:esa.kazemi@gmail.com Abstract Use of biomass as an energy resource not only for economic reasons perhaps for development of economic and environmental is attractive. In the other side is a factor in accelerating to reach stable development. Energy production from perishable waste materials and animal waste in rural households saves fuel costs and helps the economy of households. This research is applicational, because its results are usable for programmers and people in charge of agricultural progress politics of country. In this research possibility of using biomass energy in Alamut region of Qazvin province was studied. Information collected via completing questionnaire and interviewing exploiters and experts of agricultural section. Results showed that different resources for producing biogas in this region can be used. In all villages, potential of biogas production from animal manure was maximum. Available biomass in some farms can provide 47.5% of needed energy.
