Abstract :
The water, energy and food sectors are facing increasing demand, which will put pressure on these sectors in the future. The water-food-energy link is becoming more and more important due to this demand. To address this issue, a conceptual model of the water-food-energy link was developed and a growing literature on this link at the basin level in Iran was explored. The system dynamics method was used to design an integrated water-food-energy model in the Dorodzan basin in Fars province. A mental model was designed to review and analyze resource management policies after reviewing the existing literature in the field of water-food-energy connection and examining the socio-economic and hydrological features of Dorodzan Basin. The designed model showed acceptable validity in examining the behavioural test. Consequently, the integrated model was used to simulate the behaviour of key system variables in the future. The results indicate an increase in the demand for water, food, and energy due to population growth, causing a rise in withdrawal from surface and underground water sources. The simulation period showed a decreas
