Abstract :
Introduction: In recent years, the level of food insecurity in the country has changed under the influence of various economic, social and demographic variables, and this change has been different in different provinces of Iran. Therefore, knowing the level of food insecurity in different regions and the factors affecting it at the present time can be a useful guide for future planning. With this approach, the present study has quantitatively investigated the food security situation and factors affecting it in Guilan province.
Materials and methods: To calculate food security, the 18-item standard questionnaire provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was used, and to investigate the effect of demographic, economic and social variables on food security, the ordinal logit model was used. The data and information needed for the research were collected in the field and by completing 890 questionnaires from the heads of households in Guilan province in 1401.
