Abstract :
Explaining the two-dimensional network of professional relationships of institutional actors providing agricultural extension services in Iran
This study employed a mixed research design to elucidate the two-dimensional framework of professional interactions among actors within the agricultural extension system. The research utilized a cross-sectional non-experimental approach. Descriptive data were gathered through semi-structured in-depth interviews and a custom-designed questionnaire, subsequently analyzed using social network analysis with UCINET software. The findings revealed that the interaction network among the 21 identified classes of institutional actors related to the expected functional areas of the agricultural extension system exhibited a density and coherence that fell below the average quantitative range. Consequently, numerous existing institutional capacities and functional capabilities of various actors engaged in extension activities have not been systematically and synergistically utilized, remaining unintegrated within a coherent and coordinated institutional network.
