Abstract :
A look at the starting point and analysis of extension activities in Iran shows that the factor that affects the success or failure of the agricultural extension system is rooted in the structure and components of it. On the other hand, according to the theoretical models of the extension system and the theoretical basis of the structure of the extension system, it is necessary to understand social issues, the nature of the social life cycle, and to accept the basis of social sustainability, so that agricultural extension is effective in addressing social issues and in promoting sustainability in its triple conceptualization. Therefore, in the process of the sustainable development agenda and the topics related to development, due to the lack of social sustainability in the programs and even development projects, they show the need to revise the activities, missions, goals of programs, development projects and agricultural extension. ccordingly, this research has been conducted in a qualitative and meta-combinatorial method, in order to emphasize the life cycle of social sustainability as a potential field in which agricultural extension can play a role.
