Abstract :
The present investigation was aimed to develop an intelligent closed-loop insulin delivery system based on carboxymethyl cellulose-g-polyacrylamide )CMC-g-PAAm( hydro gel. To control the release of insulin in response to the concentration of glucose, glucose oxidase )GOx( was immobilized in the hydro gel. The hydro gels were prepared by polymerization of AAm in the presence of CMC via a free radical polymerization method. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy )FTIR(, thermo gravimetric analysis )TGA/DTG(, and scanning electron microscope )SEM( were used to characterize the structure of the insulin loaded hydro gels. The sensitivity of the intelligent drug carrier to glucose concentration was investigated by UV-Vis Spectroscopy at 280nm.Optimization of the hydro gels loading characteristics was studied by full factorial design. Finally, insulin release from the synthesized drug delivery system was investigated by various kinetic models
