In this study, we investigate the position of light in Quran, theorem and mysticism. This article is divided into three parts, firstly, Quran and commentator’s points of views about light is touched upon. In the second part, philosophers’ views about light are presented and in the third part, the light element in the works of great mystics has been investigated. In the end, we will compare these views as well as their similarities and differences. In the first part, the meaning and uses of light in different verses of the Quran are mentioned and after that the light theory in the view of Imam Sadigh (a.s) and the interpretation of 35th verse of surah Noor in the interpretation books such as Al-borhan fi tafsir Al-Quran , Al-safi , Jawame’ al-jaame’ , AL-mizan and Kashaf is quoted . The second part includes comparison between the views of great philosophers of Islam such as: Sohrevardi, Ibn-sina, Mulla-sadra, and Imam Muhammad Ghazzali as well as their definitions and perspectives of the different types of light. The third part explores the compilations of famous mystics such as Ibn-ararbi, Shabestari, Ein-al-ghozzat hamdani, Ghosheiri, and Molavi about light. The results show that the intention of light in the 35th verse of surah Noor is not imagery and simile, but it is a reality. Moreover, light has some degrees that God’s nature is the most complete evidence for light and each existent will be existed by him
