Vedas, the sacred texts of Hindu religion, are interpreted from various aspects. One of these interpretations is Brahmanas which contains various abundant texts about Vedas explanation . The essay surveys the quality of the Brahmanas with emphasis on their interpretive aspect. It also refers to divisions of Brahmanas and their types. Brahmanas’concepts, teachings, and ritual, which are canonical interpretations of Vedas have also been investigated. One may propose cults such as animal sacrifice, purification, fire ritual, and religious ceremonies. It is to be mentioned that the importance of Brahmanas refer to the age of formation of Hinduism. They had an influential impact in constitution of Hindu identity. The relation of Brahmanas with other interpretational texts such as Upanishads are proposed as well. The role that could be observed in in emergence of of Casts, reincarnation theory, Karma concept and the focus on Darma.
