Clarifying the mediating role of innovative behavior and job involvement in the relationship between mental health and job performance of employees

Abstract :

Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of innovative behavior and job involvement in the relationship between mental health and job performance of employees. Research method: The type of research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The statistical population includes 160 employees of the Water and Wastewater Department of Masjid Sulaiman, and the sample size using the Cochran formula is 113. The sampling method in this research was randomly available. Four standard questionnaires were used to collect data and structural equation modeling approach under PLS software was used for data analysis. Findings: The results of data analysis and testing of research hypotheses showed that the mental health of employees has a positive and significant effect on their job performance. Innovative behavior as a mediating variable has a positive and significant effect on the relationship between employees' mental health and job performance. Job engagement as a mediating variable has a positive and significant effect on the relationship between employees' mental health and job performance. Conclusion: Innovative behavior and job involvement strengthen the relationship between employees' mental health and job performance.
