Daralshafa,the first hospital in Qom during Qajar period

Abstract :
Daralshafa, which is located in the north of Feizie school , is one of the buildings adjacent to the holy shrine of Hazrat-e Masume(PBUH).The place in which Daralshafa is located belongs to the Safavid period and the second Shah Abbas's reign. When Qajar came on power and during the reign of Fath Ali shah civil development became rapid in Qom and Fath Ali shah expanded daralshafa and made it a hospital for pilgrims and people of Qom. With the efforts of Kamran Mirza ,the regent of daralshafa, ,the place was used as hospital for some years During the period after the death of Fath Ali shah. But after the death of this Qajar prince the place changed to a seminary. In Pahlavi period and with the efforts of Sheikh Abdul-Karim Haeri ,founder of the Qom seminary, chambers were added to daralshafa and it became dedicated to seminarians.
