Abstract :

The present paper with regard to Divan (Poetical works) and poems of Hafiz-e Shirazi discusses the extent of his attitude to the history knowledge, historical issues and related events and characters, subsets of his field as well as explanation and clarification of point, and introduction of the roles of symbols and patterns based on historical and literary sources and references. The research findings in this field imply that the said poet was familiar with religious and national history and this very familiarity caused, far from detailed descriptions and explanations of events and biography of historical figures, whether positive or negative, induce on audience the most prolific historical interpretations and learnings through concise and precise sayings. In selecting the exemplary symbols and happenings Hafiz has considered the different branches of history his most considered figures, however, have been chosen from ancient and mythical eras and history of prophets. There is no doubt that one of the fascinating and effective symbols of the poet and his poems influenced on his Iranian and non. Iranian audience is his proper knowledge and understanding of history, realistic historicism selection and remittance of message with prolific historical concepts.
