Abstract :
Abstract Although for hundreds of years and also until the last decades of the 13th century (H.Q.) coffee was Iranians’ popular and favorite drink, over the late 13th and early 14th centuries, tea became an inseparable item of every Iranian eating habits. Studying and analyzing such a change has some special importance in the social history of Iran. Hence, the present piece of research tries to find out what factors made the Iranians change their drink from coffee to tea, and how the change occurred. As we think, although there has not been a clear historical starting point for the beginning of people’s habit changes, the results of the present paper indicate that the peak of such a social popularity occurred during the two last decades of the 13th century (H.Q.). The early years of forming Ghajar dynasty ushered in introducing the change and its outcome appeared over the ending years of Naseri government. In the present paper the researcher has tried to have an in-depth look at the given domestic and foreign social changes. Library research method has been used by the researcher.
