Abstract :
Introduction: Marital satisfaction is a relatively stable attitude and characteristic that reflects an individual's overall evaluation of the relationship. This characteristic is not a relationship, but rather a subjective experience and opinion that is associated with many variables. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to determine the role of sexual distress, sexual function, and lovemaking styles in predicting sexual satisfaction in Iranian women.
Research Method: The present study was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population was married women working in the deputy departments of the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education in Tehran, of which 196 married women were selected using convenience sampling and responded to the questionnaires of Drogatis's (2008) Female Sexual Distress, Rosen's (2000) Female Sexual Function, Sternberg's (1986) Love Styles Scale, and Meston's (2005) Sexual Satisfaction Scale for Women (SSS-W). To analyze the findings, the statistical method of multivariate linear regression using SPSS version 25 software was used.
Results: The results showed that the variables of sexual distress negatively (-0.392) and sexual female positively (0.344) played a role in predicting women's sexual satisfaction. However, lovemaking styles did not play a significant role in determining women's sexual satisfaction. Finally, among the lovemaking styles, the commitment component had a negative and significant relationship with sexual distress and a positive and significant relationship with sexual function.
Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it is suggested that interventions related to women's sexual satisfaction should focus on reducing sexual distress and sexual function.
