Abstract :
This research in order to identify and introduction of cotton suitable cultivar or cultivars for the double cropping of after wheat and canola harvesting was carried out in the northern region of Ardebil province. In this study, eight varieties of imported cotton germplasm resources in recent years were chosen and with the Iran's cultivars included Mehr and Varamin were evaluated. In this study, different traits including plant height, total yield, earliness percentage, 20-boll weight, the average number of bolls per plant were recorded and measured. This study was conducted in randomized complete block design with ten treatments and four replications in Parsabad - e Moghan. Analysis of variance and mean comparison showed that studied cultivars in terms of yield and early maturity two important traits, that were important traits in double cropping system, were significant differences. Investigation of results showed that Gukorova and Nazily84 varieties respectively with 3570/4 and 3550/4 kg/ha seedcotton yield were highest than others varieties. However Gukorova and Nazily84 varieties respectively with 70% and 68% early maturity, than other varieties were very earliness. Given that the Gukorova and Nazily84 varieties between studied varieties, the earliest and most high-yielding varieties, so good candidate for double cropping system of cotton in the cotton cultivation regions of the Iran, especially in Ardabil Province.
