Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to investigate the knowledge, attitude and performance of health educators of Karaj schools in the field of food hygiene of primary school students in the 3rd district of Karaj. The research method was a descriptive survey. The statistical population of the study included all 236 primary school health educators in the 3rd district of Karaj, using the Cochran formula, 144 people were selected as a sample using the available random sampling method. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire of knowledge, attitude and performance towards food hygiene, which had acceptable content validity and Cronbach's alpha reliability. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and sample t-test. The results showed that the awareness level of health educators was (2.38), the attitude of health educators was (3.13) and the performance of health educators was (2.79), which indicates the desired level. Also, the results showed that the level of knowledge, attitude and performance of health educators was (2.77), which indicates the average to low level of health educators. Therefore, in the first step, experts and officials should pay attention to identifying the strengths and weaknesses of school health educators' attitudes, and in the second step, raise the educators' attitudes to a higher level by planning and taking strategic measures, including holding specialized in-service courses.
