Identifying factors affecting green organizational culture in secondary schools

Abstract :
Purpose: Regarding environmental risk management, one of the tasks assigned to schools is to implement a green culture. The main objective of this research is to identify the factors affecting green organizational culture in secondary schools in Fars province.
Method: The present research is a qualitative descriptive-exploratory study that was conducted using the Atride-Sterling (2001) style content analysis method. The research population in this section is the principals of high schools in Fars Province, environmental experts. The purposive sampling method was to interview key individuals and experts (managers, environmental experts) to the extent of theoretical saturation. The research tool was a semi-structured interview. To validate and ensure the quality of the data and interpretations made, Lincoln and Guba criteria were used with 4 axes: reliability, confirmability, repeatability, and verifiability.
Results: Based on the network of green organizational culture themes, the findings in the qualitative section are divided into three overarching themes under the titles: the structure of green organizational culture management (management dimension), the content of green organizational culture (behavioral dimension), and the context and background of green organizational culture (environmental dimension).
Conclusion: Since green organizational culture is defined as a shared collective belief among organizational members in an ecological and environmentally friendly style, the content factors of green culture refer to the belief and behavioral orientation of organizational members, organizational culture, and the style and attitude of educational organization managers toward green organizational culture.
