Abstract :
The present study aimed to investigate and analyze the regional capacity of SME development, especially regarding indicators such as the increase in producing agricultural products; the capacity of tourism and handicrafts; and the geographical, cultural and linguistic affinity of Hamidiyeh with Iraq in SME development in Hamidiyeh. The present applied study employed a descriptive-analytical research method. The statistical population consisted of all small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hamidieh, 180 enterprises. Due to the limited statistical population, all communities were selected as a sample via a purposive sampling technique. A one-sample t-test, regression, and path analysis were employed to analyze the data. The results showed that among the independent variables, the increase in the production of agricultural products with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.609; handicrafts with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.447; tourism capacities with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.832; and geographical, cultural, and linguistic affinity with Iraq with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.450 had a significant correlation with the dependent variable of the SMEs development in Hamidiyeh. The research dependent variable was the SMEs development in Hamidiyeh, which had a range of 12 to 30, a mean of 19.67, a variance of 25.25, and a standard deviation of 5.01. As the findings illustrated, the SMEs development is lower than average from the participants’ viewpoints.
