Abstract :
This article analyzes the elision of vowels, consonants, and syllables in simple and combined words in the Rudbari Dialect. The Rudbari dialect is one of the Caspian Sea languages spoken in Roudbar in the south of Gilan province. The examples have been taken from different glossaries of the Rudbari dialect and from interviews with native speakers of different villages of Rudbar who speak this dialect. The article shows that in the Rudbari dialect, among vowels, mostly e/a/ǝ, and among consonants, mostly r, x, f, q, n, š, d, t, z, s, k, b, v, y, ? and h may be deleted, among which d and r elision is more frequent. Elision of consonants mostly happens after vowels at the end of the words.
