Abstract :

In recent years, several researches have been done on urban places and the related concepts such as place attachment, sense of belonging and place identity. The objective of this study is to systematically review the researches conducted in the area of urban places and evaluate methodology and findings and specify their strengths and weaknesses. For this purpose, based on systematic review methodology; 52 scientific research articles were selected and reviewed after searching on Scientific Information Database, Information bank of Issues and Iranian Journals (magiran) and Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology. The findings of the research indicated that the conducted researches less focused on the issue of place identity and more focused on the sense of place. The most important weaknesses of the researches conducted in this area are: the focus of statistical society of the researches on Tehran province, overcoming quantitative methods and less utilization of qualitative and combination methods, no attention to the reliability of research tool, failure to provide suggestions and researching and ambiguous strategies; and their unenforceable.
