Abstract :
The importance of child care after birth and feeding them canandrsquo;t be stressed anymore. Meanwhile the process of lactation is the most crucial aspect of child feeding. In contrast the lack of healthy and enough food to the child is so vital which needs to be considered. There are so many remedies needed to improve and increase the lactation of mothers. Usually eliminating this deficiency has done through the use of chemical medicine. Side effects resulting from the use of these medicines have led us to use herbal medicines instead. Fennel for example is one of them. We have used in this study 75 mature female rats which are 2 to 3 month old and their proximate weights are (180-200). These rats divided into four experimental and one control group. The experimental groups have respectively received 35, 70,140 and 280 micro liters of the hydro extract of Fennel in the time periods of 5, 10 and 15 days. At the same time, control group have received physiologic serum in the form of IP. During the test, after 5, 10 and 15 days, the animals had a blood test in order to have their hormone measured and to determine the rate of Prolactine hormone. During the test, children have weighed daily in given times. Finally, the effects of fennel on lactation have measured through two options. 1. Motherandrsquo;s Prolactine hormone changes. 2. Childrenandrsquo;s weight changes. Tukey, Dunnett tests have used in order to review the statistical results. The differences between values in the level of (pandlt;0.05) and for the Dunnet test (pandlt;0.025) have been shown. Finally hydro extract of fennel didnandrsquo;t have significant effect on lactation in female Rat.
