Abstract :
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as a regional organization with a general advisory competence, tries to maintain the distinctive identity of the Islamic world in addition to respecting the principles of international law and to raise the level of cooperation between members in various fields. This research seeks to evaluate the role of the organization in creating economic cooperation between the member states and to address the issue of what tools and pillars the organization has and what actions it has taken to improve economic cooperation between the members. To what extent have these measures been effective in increasing economic cooperation between members This research was done with descriptive-analytical method. First, the organization's structure and statutes are explained and its advisory role in promoting cooperation between members is described; Then, the measures that have been followed with the aim of increasing the economic cooperation between the member states have been evaluated The results indicate that the organization pays attention to the place of economic cooperation in international relations and while creating specialized economic pillars, organizational approvals and also proposing regional treaties, it tries to reduce the political conflicts of the member states by creating common economic interests. Despite this, structural weaknesses, lack of guarantee of sufficient implementations and political attitudes governing the organization are the main obstacles that make it difficult to realize the organization's goal of increasing effective economic cooperation between members.
