Abstract :
Proverbs are short sayings that contain moral and social counsel and are used to add emphasis, effectiveness, and beauty to speech. The people of Dusiran also frequently use proverbs in their speech for greater emphasis, impact, and aesthetic appeal. Dusiran village is located 50 kilometers northwest of Kazerun in the Kuhmareh district of Fars Province. This research examines the folk proverbs and riddles of Dusiran from the perspective of their content and the frequency of their terms and vocabulary to answer the following questions: What is the frequency of terms and words in the proverbs and riddles of Dusiran? Which words have the highest and lowest frequency, and what does this indicate? What is the general content of Dusiran's proverbs and riddles? The data for this study was collected through field research. Dusirani proverbs and riddles fall into two categories: 1) Persian proverbs and riddles expressed in the Dusirani dialect, and 2) those unique to the Dusiran region. The content of the proverbs, which often employ metaphorical and sometimes allusive expressions, is didactic and advisory. The highest word frequencies are related to terms associated with natural elements, body parts, and animals, respectively, reflecting the influence of the village's livelihood patterns, animal husbandry, and geographical ecosystem on the formation of its folk culture elements. The village's inaccessibility has resulted in the least frequent words being the names of ethnic groups, cities, and occupations.
