The synthesis and characterization of Ni (II) and Fe(III) complexes with Schiff base ligand prepared from Aminomethyl benzene

Abstract :
New tetradentate Schiff Base Ligand 4-[4’-(3-Hydroxy-1-Methyl-but-2-Enylideneamino)-Methylen-Phenyl-Methylen-4-Ylimino]-Pent-2-en-2-ol) , have been Synthesized from Condensation Aminomethyl Benzene and Acetylacetone in Ethanol. Reaction of Prepared Ligand with Fe(III) and Ni(III) Ions, Produced the (I)[(Ni)2(L)2] and (II)[Fe2(L)(Cl)2] with Yield of 78% and 81% Recpectively . The Prepared Complexes were Characterized by 13C-NMR,1H-NMR,IR and Elemental Analysis.In Complex (I) the Results Shows that Two Nickel Ions are Connected to Two Chain of Ligand with Square Planar Array Around Each Nickel ion and in Complex (II) Two Iron ions are Connected to an Octahedral like Chain of Ligand Around Each Iron ion.
