Evaluation of The Flavonoid Content of the Plant Extract Artemisia Absinthium Collected From Ardebil

Abstract :
Artemisia absinthium belongs to the Asteraceae sub family of Asteroideae family. Up to now many reports has proven the presence of Sesquiterpenes, phenolic compounds in the genus Artemisia. The most important mentioned effect of Herbal medicine has been used in traditional medicine to ward off intestinal worms. Wormwood or wormwood (Artemisia absinthium L, wormwood) is a herbaceous plant, perennial, 50-100 cm in height. Other names Absinthium, Kharagosh, growing wild, is known Marwa and wormwood. The aim of this study was to evaluate the flavonoid content of the hydroalcoholic (methanol %80), methanol and ethyl acetate extract of A. absinthium and comparing them with each other. The Total flavonoid content (TFC) was determined using spectrophotometer methods in the presence of catechin as standard. The result showed that the Total phenolic content of the ethylacetate extract was determined 263.6 ± 0.0002 mg catechin equivalent/g more than hydroalcoholic extract 171.488 ± 0.00 mg catechin equivalent/g and The hydroalcoholic extract more from the methanol extract was 116.26 ± 0.0009 mg catechin equivalent/g.
