Abstract :
In the ancient world, establishing the commercial communication road between Iran and China is considered as one of the prominent and key economic developments and political communications, connecting the western and eastern worlds. Parthian Iran played a significant role in this economic route. As Parthian government’s decision-making center, Ctesiphon played a special role in economic relations and commercial affairs, as well as trade with other countries. Road transportation and communication led to the economic prosperity among countries, besides making possible the consolidation and spread of the country’s political and cultural relations with other countries. Consequently, the establishment of economic relations with China, including the launch of the Silk Road, resulted in the establishment of commercial and cultural relations between countries for the first time in the ancient world, followed by the provision of favorable conditions for political communication between governments. Hence, the question raised is how were the economic relations of Mithridates II of Parthia with the Han dynasty (China) during the capital period of Ctesiphon? Given its theoretical nature, the present paper uses the historical research s well as and descriptive-analytical methods; and the library method is employed for data collection. Furthermore, it is tried to analyze, explain, and describe the Ctesiphon’s role in the economic relations between the Parthian government and China.
