Ways of spreading Islam in the Islamic Maghreb in the first two centuries AH

Abstract :
During the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab (23-23 AH), after conquering Egypt, Muslims turned their attention to North Africa- due to the stabilization of Egypt as well as for commercial and political reasons - and from 22 AH, with the conquest of Barqa, the conquest began in the west. This study tries to explain the presenting ways to spread Islam in the Maghreb. This study is intended to answer the question of what methods led to the spread of Islam in the Maghreb. He used the method of descriptive-analytical research and theoretical foundations of historical geography, which was done in a library and documentary manner. After analyzing the information, this result was obtained: the spread of Islam took place in several ways: 1- The most common way of spreading, war and military and political domination over a land and the domination of the dominant people. 2-The Kharijites promoted the idea of equality between all human beings and non-discrimination among the people, which was noticed by many Babars and led them to convert to Islam. 3- The economic situation caused many conversions to Islam. The free and poor Barbarians of North Africa did not pay Jizyah if they converted to Islam. Therefore, many of them converted to Islam 4- The behavior of Arab rulers and governors in the open lands with the natives, and 5- Religious tolerance of Islamic rulers with religious minorities has been one of the most important factors in the spread of Islam in Maghreb.
