Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between ethnic identity and cultural congruity and self-alienation in university student. The research method of this study was correlation. In this research 400 female and male students from Azad university of Kermanshah were selected by stratified sampling and complete the ethnic identity, cultural congruity and alienation scales. Results of Pierson correlation indicate that there is a negative correlation between ethnic identity and its dimensions with alienation. Also results show that there is a negative correlation between cultural congruity and normlessness and seclusion; but, there is no meaningful correlation between cultural congruity and alienation (p<0.05). According to regression correlation, ethnic identity has been the highest variable for predicting the alienation in university students. The Results of t-test indicated that the mean of inability and seclusion in male students was higher than female (p<0.05); but there is no meaningful difference between male and female students in alienation and normlessness.
