Abstract :
According to the importance of line and staff personnel in increasing theefficiency and effectiveness of an organization, there are somemisunderstandings in the relationships of these two groups of personnel.The final result of this misunderstanding is the decrease of efficiency in anorganization. Based on the significance of this issue, in this research therelationship between line and staff personnel in comprehensive Universityhas been investigated. For this purpose the current and desired status ofcommunications have been asked in a researcher-made questionnaire (with26 items) and have been distributed among 210 people in line and 60people in staff in educational vice chancellor domain of Elmi- KarbordiUniversity of Tehran. The results show that, there is a significant differencebetween the current and desired situation in all hypothesizes of the study.Also based on the results, status of communications is better in line ratherthan staff personnel.
