Abstract :

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the amount of presence and activity in cyberspace and the degree of marital adjustment among married men and women referring to counseling centers in Urmia. The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the study was all married men and women referring to counseling centers in Urmia in 1395 with a total of 1107 people. The sample size was estimated using Cochran's formula of 285 people and selected by simple random sampling. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. In order to measure the presence and activity in cyberspace, a researcher made questionnaire was used and Spinner and Thompson (1976) questionnaire were used to measure marital adjustment. Validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed by the judges and reliability of the questionnaires was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha test. For the presence and activity questionnaires in cyberspace 0.82 and marital adjustment was 0.84. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and regression. According to the results, the presence and activity in cyberspace has a negative and significant relationship with the level of marital adjustment among married men and women referring to counseling centers of Urmia
