The relationship between glass ceiling with a sense of empowerment of female employees

Abstract :
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between glass ceiling with a sense of empowerment of Azad University Branch female employees. The study conducted in correlational method. The study population consisted of all female employees at Azad University Branch, which includes 110 female individuals. Samples size based on Cochran formula were calculated 75 people, whom were selected by simple random sampling. The data collection tool for the empowerment of Spritzer (1995) and a questionnaire was made the glass ceiling. Face and content validity of the questionnaire was approved. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient calculated 82.0, 84.0 in order. Analysis of data using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression were conducted. The results showed that there was relationship between glass ceiling with a sense of Empowerment and its components, independence, effectiveness and trust. There was a significant inverse relationship between the individual components of the glass ceiling and the competence of the sense of empowerment, Family barriers with a sense of empowerment and competence, cultural barriers and component of trust, social barriers with a sense of empowerment and its components independence, efficiency, effectiveness and trust. The results of regression indicated that family barriers were predictability of a sense of empowerment of employees.
