Investigation of the role of self-care dimensions in parenting self-efficacy in women referring to eastern health centers

Abstract :
The mother's feelings of parenting ability are titled "maternal self-efficacy" that affects maternal actions. This research plans to Investigation of the role of self-care dimensions in parenting self-efficacy in women referring to Ahvaz health centers. In order to proposed model study, 381 women referring to 4 health centers of Ahvaz city in the year 2016 were selected by stage random sampling method and completed the Mindful Self-Care Scale and the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale. Gathered data were analyzed by using SPSS-21 software. The results of this study showed that self-care dimensions accounted for 40% of maternal self-efficacy variable variance. The most important predictors of maternal self-efficacy included environmental self-care, medicine and mindfulness. These findings make it clear that, despite the experience and parenting education, physical health and mental relaxation have an impact on a mother ability to perform her duties, and these have a significant share.
