Evaluating the effectiveness of process of contact with procrastination methods on academic self-regulating of students

Abstract :
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of contact with procrastination methods on academic self-regulating of students. This study was performed in a quasi-experimental context with experimental and control groups and doing pre-test and post-test. The study population included all high school male students in grade 1 in the city of Saveh in the academic year of 2016-2017. In this research, the school was selected by available approach, and after completing the procrastination questionnaire, the students were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The experimental group were put in contact with procrastination techniques for 8 90-minutes sessions. The data collection tools included Solomon and Rothblum (1984) procrastination assessment scale - students, Zimmerman and Martinez-Pons self-regulation scale(1986). The results of data analysis by using analysis of covariance (P<0/02) showed that contact with procrastination methods is effective in increasing academic self-regulation. Therefore, based on the findings, one can conclude that contact with procrastination techniques can be used to increase self-regulation as an effective method.
