Investigating the Effect of Psychological Empowerment on Innovative Behavior of Employees through Their Work

Abstract :
In the modern dynamic world of business, human’s role and his perspectives can have significant impacts on gaining constant competitive benefits of an organization and their success. Therefore, organizations should try to not only care about and protect their human capitals, but also encourage them to do innovative activities. Empowerment and work engagement can help organizations to exploit the mental capital and increase the innovative behaviors of the employees. Furthermore it can help enhance their motivation to have long-term continuant relations with the organization. So, the purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relation between psychological empowerment, innovative behavior, and the turnover intention in the employees. The statistical population of this study is a group of experts working in the pharmacy institutes in Khorasan-e- Razavi. A standard questionnaire was used to gather the data and the structural validity was tested through factor analysis. The data of the study was analyzed through structural equation modelling using the SPSS and SMART PLS soft wares. The results of the study shows that there is a positive significant correlation between psychological empowerment of the employees and their work engagement; and this psychological empowerment through work engagement has positive effect on the appearance and enhancement of the innovative behaviors and decreasing the turnover intention in the employees
