The lengthening reasons of Amir Abbas Hoveyda's prime ministery

Abstract :
After murdering Hassanali Mansour in Bahman 1343, Amir Abbas Hoveyda- an intimate lover of Mansour- was chosen as prime minister by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. At that time, the majority of politicians believed that the king is planning to benefit from Hoveyda as solvent and to choose a successor in the proper opportunity. But Hoveyda used so many tricks to remain in this position and could gain the longest record of prime minister in parliamentary period. Hoveyda was prime minister from 1343/11/7 to 1356/7/15, about 12.5 years. The reasons for this long permanace were as follows: obeying royal orders, hiring in Savak at the biegining of its arrival to Iran, America¢s agreement for the state of prime minister, deceitful pretention for people¢s seduction and to live plainly. For this kind of living, Hoveyda was driving his Peykan, attracting intellectuals and authors and being in relationship with them and being advocate of university students. He used to wear tie with Orchid flower to his collar, and a pipe under his lip and carried walking stick with himself and had a smile on his lip. These behaviours should be a pattern for all Iranians and any group should discuss about these matters, for example Leila,his ex-wife, sent Orchid flower for him from Paris and so on……
