Abstract :
During the reign of Mozaffaroddin Shah (1313-1323 AH), extensive urban revolts were formed. The tyranny of local rulers, religious conflicts and the shortage and high price of food, especially bread, have been the most important causes of urban riots. These uprisings damaged the legitimacy of the government and became models for the struggle. The morphology of urban riots in the Mozaffari era in order to understand and analyze more deeply the pre-constitutional social situation is the main topic of this article, which tries to study the historical method, descriptive-analytical method and citing existing sources. This study seeks to answer the questions of what caused urban riots in this period. It is aimed to answer questions including who were the groups and social groups involved and what were the effects of these riots? It seems that factors such as the inefficiency of the Qajar government, the tyranny of courtiers and local rulers, the increase in the population of cities, inflation in prices and the decrease in the internal and external value of the currency have led to public dissatisfaction. These discontents led to riots that preceded the Constitutional Revolution.
