Abstract :
AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the mediating role of marital conflicts in the relationship between parenting styles of mothers with premenstrual boredom and of children’s stubbornness. This study was descriptive with structural equation modeling. Participants were selected availably purposeful from six counseling centers in Tehran in 2023. The entry criteria were having Premenstrual dysphoric disorder with the approval of a clinicians, child aged between 5 and 7 years and education between diploma to master's degree and exclusion criteria, suffering from another mental disorder, or being treated with psychiatric drugs. Participants answered questionnaires on marital conflict, parenting styles, and child stubbornness. The results of this study showed that the structural equation model based on the mediating role of marital conflicts in the relationship between authoritative and authoritarian parenting style of mothers with premenstrual boredom and stubbornness of children has a good fit (P <0.01). But the liberating parenting style and its paths to marital conflict and child stubbornness were taken out of the model. The findings showed that powerful mothers with premenstrual boredom directly and indirectly, with the mediating role of marital conflict, predict a decrease in child stubbornness. In contrast, the authoritarians directly and indirectly significantly predicted the children's stubbornness.
