The effect of the eight week of exercise in water on the salivary immunoglobulins of patients with multiple sclelosis

Abstract :
The aim of this research was the effect of eight weeks of training in water on the salivary immunoglobulins of men with multiple sclerosis. The statistical population of this research was all male MS patients with an age range of 32 to 48 years who participated in the psychology classes of the MS Patients Association in Sarpol Zahab city in the summer of 2011. The number of 30 patients who volunteered to cooperate with the project were selected by random sampling method after face-to-face interview and medical record review. And they were divided into two training groups (training in water) and the control group. IgG-IgM-IgA immunoglobulins were measured. The patients of the test group participated in water aerobic exercise program for 8 weeks (3 sessions per week for 60 minutes and with an intensity of 70% of the maximum heart rate) and at a temperature of 28-30 degrees in the shallow part of the pool. Among these people, 40 patients who volunteered to cooperate with the project were selected by screening method and after conducting face-to-face interviews and checking medical records by targeted sampling method. The findings showed that eight weeks of water training improved IgG-IgM-IgA immunoglobulins (P<0/ 05). It was found that exercise in water changes the function of the immune system and the level of salivary immunoglobulins. However, the effect of training intensity and duration should be studied more deeply.
