Abstract :
Aim:The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment to stress in mothers with maladapted adolescent daughters during the pandemic. Methods: The research was an all-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population included mothers whose adolescent daughters' incompatibility was above the cut-off score. The sample group consisting of 60 participants from a second year public high school in the 14th district of Tehran in the second half of the 1400 academic year was randomly selected (each grade was sampled randomly). Participants were equally assigned to the experimental and control groups. Perceived stress questionnaire for mothers and Bell adjustment questionnaire completed by girls were used to collect data. Acceptance and commitment treatment was performed on the mothers of the experimental group for 16 one-hour sessions twice a week and the mothers in the control group and the girls in both groups did not receive any interventionResult:The results of analysis of covariance showed that acceptance and commitment-based therapy was effective in improving maternal stress and reducing social incompatibility in girls during the pandemic. Conclusion: According to the findings, acceptance and commitment therapy can alleviate mothers' stress by teaching their basic techniques such as mindfulness, reduction of experiential avoidance, setting values, acceptance and desire, and thus improve incompatibility in girls
