Abstract :
Effects of Toxic in chemotherapy and radiotherapy are followed by many changes in malereproductive system. Melatonin, one of the secretions of Epiphyses, known as an antioxidant. The aim of this study is the investigation of protecting effect of Melatonin on the disordering ofspermatogenesis resulted in the Jemcitabin – therapy by analyzing the histology of testis.Samples in this experimental intervened study are 48, 8weeks aged male wistar rat .Samplesrandomly divided in 6 groups with 8 rats.control group affected by normal Saline (IP)Group 2,3Melatonin injected mono dosage (IP) in10, 20 mg/kg quantityGroup 4 Jemcitabin injected mono dosage (IP) in 50 mg/kg quantityGroup 5,6 Jemcitabin + Melatonin injected jemcitsbin in 50mg/kg and melatonin10,20mg/kg(IP) in IP manner14 days after therapy, the symbols made unconscious and segregate the rats`testis andassessments was composed through the study of seminiferous tubules and counting ofspermatogenic and somatic cells.Quantitative variables was evaluated and analyzed through non-parametric Kruskal-wellis bythe help of SPSS, supposing p<0.05is a criterion. the rats treated with jemcitabin compared withcontrol, showed significant decrease in assays and spermatogeneses quality p<0.01. quantitativeparameter of the seminiferous tubules in 4th group showed significant decrease compare withcontrol p<0.01.whereas melatonin in 6th group compared with4th group results in remarkablenatural seminiferous tubules parameter p<0.05. melatonin results significant increases in allspermatogenic and somatic cells in 3th and 6th groups compared with 4th groupsp<0.05(improvement in spermatogeneses quality)and in 6th group neutralized side effects ofjemcitabin.the results of this study show that melatonin has protective effect on dameges whichinduce by Jemcitabin. The mechanisms behind these actions are unknown at present however itis possible to state preliminary that are mediated through reducing the oxidative damage.
