Abstract :
The present study examines the role of culture and social development as social network in promoting women's awareness toward political issues. In recent years, the spread of internet penetration rate in the country and membership in virtual networks has grown dramatically through mobile phones. Despite the epidemic of social networks, the presence of women in these networks and the impact of these networks on their lives is important from a sociological point of view. While reviewing on the conceptual space and some theories related to women's connection and communication technology, this research has made critical theories as a point of self-reliance and has attempted to examine how women are exposed to social networks. The research method is survey and its statistical population is all women resident in Tehran city. The sample size was 458 women who were selected through multi-stage sampling. The variables that measured their impact on women's political awareness were as follows: social and economic origin of the family, membership and activity in social networks, education and ethnicity, and age groups.
