The fitting of Huntley's professional competency model among teachers in Isfahan province

Abstract :
One of the issues that has been addressed in recent years is the existence of model for the professional qualifications of teachers. The present research is based on the applied purpose, descriptive in nature and in terms of survey method. The statistical population consisted of teachers working in Isfahan province in 1997-96. The sample size was estimated at 345 people using the Cochran sample size determination formula. Samples were also selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. 90 indicators were identified based on the Huntley model and provided to the experts in the form of a questionnaire. After reviewing the validity, using the experts' opinion, the components and indices of each component were determined, The final questionnaire was comprised of three variables (the main component of the model) and 80 items based on the Likert five-choice spectrum this final model. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.842, which indicated the internal coordination of the items and confirmation of the reliability of the questionnaire. To evaluate the fit of the model, partial least squares method was used using PLS software. The results showed that the general model of research is suitable for fit and the model of professional qualifications of teachers has suitable fit. in structural model, factor load and t significant values, professional practice with a load of 46.03 has the most role in the professional competence of teachers. Professional commitment with a factor of 0.335 is in the second place and professional knowledge with a factor of 0.331 is in the third place
