Abstract :

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the degree of information and communication technology (ICT) usage may reduce the level of poverty and improve human capital.  To achieve our goal we have used variables such as number of landline and cell phones, personal computers, etc.as proxies to indicate the ICT level in 13 selected developing countries for the period of 1995-2008. Our panel data empirical results indicate the ICT has positive effect on human capital improvement and poverty reduction.   JEL Classification: O15 ، O33 ، C23
